Before "Alexandra" became a household name, there was a growing concern in the country that the Lao language will become obsolete in the near future. The popularity of Thai music in Laos has such an effect that many people felt they were being "culturally invaded" by neighboring Thailand. She introduced her debut album "Dream" to the people of Vientiane in a three-day concert on the 16th, 17th, and 18th of September 2002, organized by Lao Art Media, her recording company. Needless to report, the singer was warmly received." Since then, Alexandra has brought Lao music industry to a whole new level with her style of Lao pop. She has not only captured the hearts and minds of the Laotians in Laos but also the Laotians in Europe and the U.S.A.
Alexandra has released her "Concert" and "Dream" DVDs under the label of Lao Art Media. Her latest CD is called "Luem Saa" which was released in January 2006. You can purchase that album through Alexandra Bounxouei's official website . Below you will find some sample clips from Alexandra's "Concert" and "Dream" DVDs.
