Gumby grew up around "the hoods" of Minneapolis, Minnesota and was heavily influenced by his -often- harsh environment. The interaction with black people around him next to a few "penitentiary escapades" inspired him to choose rap and hip hop as his main creative outlet. Gumby started writing his raps at the age of 16, back then as a part of a group called "Lao Felonz".

Lao Felonz toured many places and put their songs online to download for fans nation wide, e.g., one of the well-known hit songs from those days was "Everyday Soup-Sah". After being into the rap business for about a decade, Gumby re-invested the money he made in his solo carreer and came out with his first solo album: "Fast Life".

Fast Life was written and produced by Gumby himself and sold over 5000 copies globally. His work is mainly autobiographic and every flow comes straight from the heart. Gumby's work is about the truth in capital letters, the truth as he experiences it in his life.

On the album, Envy (track #2) is his favorite. Gumby describes his preference for Envy as: "I wrote the song cause I see people around me be Fake azz hell and envy what I do!" You can listen to this track here, in the samples of Gumby's work.

Gumby opened up for Jin and DragOn of RuffRyderz and Loso in 2005 and did some shows for B96 hip-hop and RnB radio station amongst others.

Good news! Gumby's new album, "Strickly Bizzness", is finished now. Two singles have been released from the album already. The first single, "9999 roses", was quickly followed up by club floor filler "G.U.M.B.Y" and his latest hit Envy (remix version).
